Maker Reporter #39 - Tales of Eindhoven
I am an Electronics Engineer by profession with a passion for Photography, moved to The Netherlands from India in January 2019. Like most of you, the corona pandemic had a huge impact on my life, partly because I am living far away from family and most of my friends, thus missing a human connect. I am aware of the fact that the financial situation of many people was affected.
I was very glad that I had a job which made me feel safe. Because of the difficult times caused by the pandemic, I was pondering over the thought of supporting local businesses over anything else. This thought translated into the idea to look for local businesses and entrepreneurs and share their stories to a wider audience.
Around March 2019, I got to meet Hans Vullers from R-Energy at Microlab. I was very intrigued by his story and his idea of creating a wind mill for a sustainable society. I have been collaborating with him since our first meeting at Microlab.
It was during this journey, I got to know more about Microlab. I am super happy that I got to know this wonderful place with such an excellent mix of technology and art and everything entrepreneurial. I got to meet interesting people and know their fabulous stories. I love the energy here.
Project: TALES OF EINDHOVEN.
-What ? To capture and share the stories of people of Eindhoven.
-How? To share these stories with pictures on different social media platforms.
-Why? To create awareness of local businesses and entrepreneurs. To support and build a better community through stronger bonding between citizens. We are busy with our lives and don’t get to know people doing different things in life. I have never spoken to a firefighter or a pilot or even a hairdresser but I think everyone has a role to play in each of our lives directly or indirectly. Hence, I would like to know people from different walks of life. I want to be better connected to the city I live in and its people.
